An independent guide for Indians in Hong Kong: live rates, the compliance detail that trips people up, news from home, and a weekly cartoon.
Most remittance comparison sites are built for other corridors and treat Hong Kong to India as an afterthought. They show a rate and a fee, and stop there. But the expensive mistakes on this corridor are often about the details around the transfer: picking the wrong purpose code, sending to an NRO account when an NRE account was needed, not knowing what a FIRC or eFIRC is for, or hitting a Hong Kong bank cut-off. nriremit is an attempt to cover that ground in plain language.
nriremit is independent. It is not owned by, or paid to favour, any bank or transfer provider. Some provider links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up through them, at no extra cost to you. We explain exactly how this works, and how we keep it from influencing the comparison, on the methodology page.
We are not a bank, a money transfer operator, or a financial adviser, and we are not authorised or regulated by the HKMA, SFC or RBI. We compare publicly available information. Always check the final rate and fee with the provider before you send money. Nothing on this site is tax, legal or investment advice.
